Adding the ESS Energy WarehouseTM to Solar PV installations improves project economics for the investor and further reduces a customer’s energy costs by shifting energy produced from Solar PV to peak rate hours, typically from 18:00-21:00 in the evening.

When located behind the meter, the ESS Energy WarehouseTM provides additional services of demand charge management and critical load back-up. With the use of energy storage, customers can eliminate the use of diesel generators during the peak rate hours, thereby providing additional benefits to the customer and the environment.

This application requires the ESS Energy WarehouseTM, that has > 4 hours duration to store and shift energy to peak rate hours, daily cycling without performance degradation or capacity fade over a 20,000-guaranteed cycle life; matching the life of solar PV.

These factors together with the ability to operate in ambient environments up to 50o C without active cooling, low operating and maintenance costs and inherently safe, non-toxic, non-flammable battery chemistry delivers the lowest cost of energy storage – a key requirement for the distributed generation market.
